Christian Michael Bedard, 46, of Southington, passed away on April 1, 2022, after a short illness, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was a lifelong resident of Southington. Chris was born on October 30, 1975, the son of Elaine Dickman Bedard of Southington, CT and Paul R. Bedard, Sr., of Dawsonville, GA.
Chris graduated from Southington High School in 1994. He went on to receive his Associate Degree in Business from Tunxis Community College and later earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Central Connecticut State University.
He worked as a realtor with his mom at Hometowne Realty and a member of the Greater Hartford Board of Realtors and Connecticut Association of Realtors. He loved the beach, music, hiking, cooking, history, politics, hanging with his nieces, traveling and was a lover of all animals. He loved watching Jeopardy and was a Jeopardy champ within the family.
When Chris first got his driver's license and first car, he had a cardboard box in the trunk so when he saw any animal in distress, he could take the animal to the Kensington Bird and Animal Hospital. The care providers at the animal hospital must have cringed when they saw the white Subaru pull up yet again with an animal in distress. Chris was always there for those in need with food or money. One Mother's Day when he was a young boy, Chris picked flowers and delivered them to all the mothers on his street.
In addition to his mother and father he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Atty. Paul R Bedard, Jr. and Sylvia Bedard of Southington, CT, his brother William J. Bedard of Dawsonville, Georgia, his cherished nieces Ava Bedard and Olivia Bedard of Southington, CT, his maternal grandmother Florence Dickman of Southington, CT, his aunt Carol Gould and her husband Phillip of Coventry, CT, his uncle William Dickman and his wife Patti of Plymouth, VT, his aunt Jane Buden and her husband William of Southington, CT, his aunt Lenise Kilbourne, of N. Bend, OR, his uncle David Bedard of Littleton, CO his caring friend Gregg Connolly of Southington, CT, his fur baby Molly and many cousins and friends. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
Donations may be made in his memory to Bread for Life, PO Box 925, Southington, CT 06489 or CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111
