Chris Wayne Castille, age 60, of Lilburn, Georgia saw the glory of Jesus face to face on September 2, 2021. He stepped into heaven following complications from COVID-19.
Chris was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on December 12, 1960 to Ernest and Gertrude Castille. He was the 4th of 5 children. He excelled in Little League Baseball and was an All-Star catcher. He grew up assisting at his daddy's auto parts store (A-OK Motor Parts), where he acquired his friendly customer service skill. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers and valued his Cajun heritage. He graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1978. He attended McNeese State University and was a Knight in the Kappa Alpha Order social fraternity whose motto is "Dieu et Les Dames". His love and dedication to his beloved wife Charlene was evident, and they celebrated 30 years of marriage on May 11, 2021. He treasured spending time with his son Bryce, spent countless hours coaching and supporting his childhood sports, attending professional sporting events and movies, eating out, and creating Fat Ole Cajun videos. His daughter Hope gave him 3 grandchildren that he truly adored. He loved his church family at Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain where he served as an elder and was a grandfather, father, uncle, and brother figure to the congregation. He was a district sales manager for Interlude Home for nearly 20 years where he was considered more like family than an employee. For 13 years, he was a mentor and stand-in dad ministering to international students through a home-stay program where he provided them with a stable environment and taught them the love of Christ. He always knew the right thing to say to brighten a room with humor, made us all laugh, and there wasn't a bad joke that he didn't like. He was a faith-filled, generous man that had a spirit of joy and exuberance. He loved Jesus, loved life, loved food, and loved on people so well that he made each person feel like they were his favorite. He spread the love of Jesus far and wide, captured our hearts, and will be sorely missed by all.
