Chester A. Skalsky, 74 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Buckman Building in Little Falls, MN. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 P.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Caring for Chester and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN.
Chester Skalsky was born on April 27, 1950, in Forsyth, MT, to the late Leonard and Charlotte (Squires) Skalsky. In 1972, he married Sylvia Parilla in Viegas, Puerto Rico. Chester honorably served in the U.S. Navy as a commissary man from 1969 until his discharge in 1972. Following his military service, he worked at Larson Boat Company in Little Falls, MN, until he was injured in a motor vehicle accident in July of 1975. After his recovery, Chester resided at the Brott's Boarding Home in Little Falls, where he took pride in assisting with simple yet meaningful chores and duties. He later moved into an apartment before purchasing a home, where he lived independently until eventually settling in the Buckman Building in downtown Little Falls. A man of faith, Chester read the Bible daily and found joy in working on crossword puzzles, visiting with friends and neighbors, and taking weekly shopping trips with his brother, Lester. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by wife, Vilsa of Fajaro, Puerto Rico; son, Andrew Skalsky Parilla of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; brothers, Clinton (Mary) Skalsky of Waite Park, MN, Lester Skalsky of Little Falls, MN and Calvin (Alice) Skalsky of Clarissa, MN; sisters, Linda Hubbard of Worth, MO, Carol Kirk of Billings, MT; and 5 grandchildren.
