Chester Teofil Dabrowski of Southington, CT, peacefully passed into eternal life with his loving daughter and son-in-law by his side. He was the devoted husband of the late Florence (Sandy) Sankowski Dabrowski for 63 years. Chet was born in Southington on Dec. 6, 1929, the son of the lateTeofil and Helen (Frankowski) Dabrowski. He was a graduate of Lewis High School in 1949 and graduated from Post Junior College of Waterbury in 1951. Following college, Chet served our country in the US Army's 759th Military Police Battalion in Berlin during the Korean conflict. Chet served as a member of the Southington Police Department for 35 years, 9 as a supernumerary and 26 as a regular officer, retiring as Sergeant in 1989. He served as president of the Southington P.B.A. and was a member of the Police Association of Connecticut. Chet had membership in several organizations including the American Legion Kiltonic Post 72, Gang Scarpa Shoda, the Polish Falcons nest 307 and Southington Country Club. Upon his retirement from the S.P.D, he was employed by DellaVecchia Funeral Home. The outdoors was where Chet was happy spending his time. He loved to ski, serving on the National Ski Patrol at Mt. Southington. Many a good story was told about his hunting and fishing expeditions. He spent wonderful days with his daughter and her family in Vermont hiking and kayaking. In addition to his beloved daughter, Kathy, he leaves her husband Terry Kovacs and grandson, Jonathan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jenny Kovacs, sisters, Mary Creswick, Tessie Gaynor, Pauline Stefanowicz and brothers Ambrose and Walter Dabrowski. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 1st at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St. at 10 am for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday June 30th from 4-7 pm.
