Chesta Adams Boinest Tiedemann passed away peacefully on the morning of October 28, 2022. The relatives and friends of Chesta Adams Boinest Tiedemann are invited to attend her Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Old St. Andrew's Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston. Interment will follow in the churchyard. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Wednesday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.
Chesta was born in Charleston March 19, 1938, the only daughter of Harleston L. Adams and Wilma Bedingfield Adams. She attended Charleston High School where she and Miss Betty ruled the basketball court! She attended Coker College before starting her family. Chesta loved working in the shipping business and developed lifelong friendships during her tenure. She dabbled in Real Estate, played a mean game of bridge, and loved being part of the ladies auxiliary at the Charleston Yacht Club.
Chesta is survived by her four sons, Edward H. Boinest, III (Michelle), Daniel Scott Boinest (Karen), Robert Alexander Boinest (Lucia), and Richard Adams Boinest. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Terry Adams and his wife Sandra. Her cherished nephews and nieces include Charles Terry Adams, Jr. (Gina) and their two boys, Everett and Crosby; Cameron Adams; and Stacey Chesta Adams Cooke (Kip) and their children Kip, Jr. and Kaitlyn.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Alvin Palmer Tiedemann, and her daughter-in-law, Claire Boinest.
She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Chip Boinest, Miles Boinest, Haley Hughett, Jimi Boinest, Caroline Boinest, Lucy Boinest, and Ladson Boinest along with two great-grandsons, Wyatt Hughett and Hunter Hughett.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Old St. Andrews Church or to the Hollings Cancer Center in memory of Al and Claire.
