Cheryl Lea (Murray) Schisler died peacefully in Indianapolis on March 4, 2020 at Creekside Nursing Home at the age of 71.
Cheryl is survived by her son, Jeremy Schisler of Indianapolis, and her twin daughters, Jaime (Bob) Axum of Greenfield and Michele (Russ) Jenkins of Indianapolis; her grandkids: Malachi, Rachael, Kris, Ross, Emma, Jake, James, Ulysses, and Olive. She is also survived by her four sisters: Susan (Kirby) Popplewell, Judy (Mike) Miller, Valerie Murray, and Candi (Bill) Burdine. She is also survived by 2 aunts, an uncle, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death was her former husband, Jerry Schisler; her parents, Herb and Gladys Murray; her brother-in-law, Bill Foulke; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild who we know she is holding in Heaven.
Cheryl was born on April 4, 1948 in New Castle, Indiana to Herb and Gladys Murray. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1966 and attended Olivet Nazarene College, IUPUI, and University of Indianapolis. She married Jerry in 1975 and had her three kids in 1979. Cheryl had a rewarding employment career along with her various church leadership positions. She was a devout Christian and member of Victorious Life Church of the Nazarene, with being a former member of New Castle and Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 9th from 4 to 8 PM. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 10th at 12 PM, with visitation one hour prior. Both the visitation and funeral will take place at Victorious Life Church of the Nazarene, 9917 E. 46th Street, Indianapolis 46235. Any flowers or contributions should be made to Victorious Life Church of the Nazarene.
