Chauncey Randell Lawson, 43, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home.
Chauncey was born March 17, 1977, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of Edward Eugene and Laura Kay Lawson Edmonds.
He loved to cook, listen to music and build model cars. Chauncey enjoyed people, giving haircuts and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his son, Cordell Lawson of Columbus; mother, Laura Kay Edmonds of Alabama; grandmother, Frances Lawson of Columbus; god parents, Art and Pam Edmonds of Indianapolis; adopted brother, Brent Burkett, also of Columbus and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward E. Edmonds; brother, Donald E. Edmonds II and grandfather, George Lawson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Derek Reed and Minister Cassandra Nicholson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
