Charlotte Marie Robinson 1932-2021
With profound sorrow, our family regrets to announce the passing of Charlotte Marie Robinson, 89 years old, of Camarillo, CA on December 22nd.
Born in China, Charlotte's lifelong commitment to travel and helping others was an integral part of her personality. This included enlisting in the US Navy in 1953, then receiving her BA in Language Arts and a teaching credential for moderate / severe at Cal State University. She went on to work with both children and adults with special needs, served as a Girl Scout Leader, A Gray Lady for the American Red Cross in Japan, missionary work in China and Peru, teaching English as a second language, volunteering through her church, hosting Bible studies, making baby blankets and lap quilts for the elderly in her community, as well as crisis care kits for distribution to the displaced. Charlotte had a policy of welcoming all to her table on the holidays. Her talent for knitting and sewing was well-known, as was her deft hand at home improvement projects.
Charlotte dedicated her life to Christ in the early 60s in Sasebo, Japan, and settled into the Camarillo Church of the Nazarene in 1969. She was known affectionately as the Faith Matriarch of her family. She met her dear Cecil "Cy" Robinson while square dancing and was a devoted spouse to Cy for 38 years before his sad passing in 2000. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Ethel Womack, and her sister Ruth Giles. She is survived by her sister Patricia Gastineau, her son and daughter-in-law William and Judy Linne, daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Gary Gabel and her beloved grandchildren, Anne Corral, Melissa Noble, BJ Linne, and Margaret Meehan. Charlotte was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Emma and Monroe Noble.
Charlotte touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her and were graced by her giving heart.
