Charlie F. Leatherman

Charlie Fletcher Leatherman, Sr., 90, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Carolina Caring, Newton.

Born in Lincoln County, on April 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Albert Zach Leatherman and Lillie Mae McNeilly Leatherman. He was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by infant sisters, Kathleen Leatherman and Virginia Dare Leatherman; sisters, Merle Powell, Meldonia Bivens, Josephine Leatherman, Ruby Pope, and Juanita Leatherman Finding.

He is survived by his loving wife of seventy-four years Dorothy Sain Leatherman; three sons, Larry Leatherman and wife Sandra of Lincolnton, Albert Leatherman and wife Florence of Marion, and Charlie Leatherman, Jr and wife Kimberly of Nebo; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 , at 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm , at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
