Charles J. "Charlie" Wilder, 61, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020
at OUR Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Born May 2, 1958 in Rushville, he was the son of Charles W. Wilder and Rosemary (Whittaker)
Wilder. He married Frances (Sorrell) Wilder on August 6, 1988 and she survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons- Nathan A. Wilder (wife Amber) of Shelbyville, David Wayt (wife
Cheryl) of Shelbyville; brother Matthew Wilder of Shelbyville, sister Clara Thomas of Shelbyville;
6 grandchildren- Addyson, Alexis, Hunter, Seth, Kailyn, and Ethan. He was preceded in death by
his parents, sisters- Rita Marquette, Rebecca Griffith, Karen Clark, and brother Jim Wilder.
Mr. Wilder had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and was a long time carpenter with several different companies.
He was also self employed with his own business Northern Wind Home Improvement, and also with Clevernest Home
Solutions of Carmel for over 11 years. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of First Church
of God and Beacon Baptist Church.
Charlie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts
fan, and his family meant the world to him.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos
Road, with Pastor Brian Justice officiating. Friends may call on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the time
of the service, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association, in care of the funeral home
