Charles Frederic Warren died peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2021. He was born in Washington, NC on February 17, 1926 to Lindsay Carter Warren and Emily Harris Warren. The family moved from "Little" Washington to Washington, DC in 1940. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where he served as senior class president. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1943. He served in the Coast Guard and went on to obtain his J.D. degree from UNC School of Law in 1951. He and his wife, Alma, married and he settled into a maritime law practice with the firm Graham and James in San Francisco. Later the couple moved to Washington, DC and he started his own law firm Warren and Associates, P.C.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alma Wyvil Warren, his siblings, Emily Carter Jones and Lindsay Carter Warren, Jr. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ellen Wyvil Shea, his nieces, Diana Jones Carter, Adrienne Warren Northington, Emily Warren McNair, Grace Warren Johnston and his nephew Tony Shea, plus many great nieces and nephews. The Warren family is grateful for all of the love and care Charles received from his wonderful caregivers, Santos Diaz, Happy Anthony and Fatoumata Camara. The family plans to honor his memory at a private funeral in May in Washington, DC and also in the fall in his hometown of Washington, NC. Memorial gifts in memory of Charles F.
