Charles M. Stuart, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021. Charlie was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in suburban Maryland, later living in Edgewater/Mayo, Maryland, and since 2002, in St. Johns, Florida.
Charlie served in the US Navy and in Washington,D.C. as Special Events Coordinator for traffic and crowd control for all national events including Inaugurations. He received a Distinguished Service Award. He was a member of FOP, Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, Brooksville Lions Club, and numerous numismatic organizations. In Maryland and Florida , he held numerous positions in the Episcopal Church. His favorite ministries were Habitat, food pantries, and "Feed My Lambs".
He is survived by his beloved wife, Katey; sons, Chuck Stuart of West Point, VA, Doug (Cathleen) Stuart of Edgewater, MD; step-sons, Robert "Gray" Conley of Fayetteville, AR, Thomas "Ty" Conley III of Reno, NV; 8 grandchildren and other extended family members. His sister, Julie and parents, Charles M. Stuart and Julia Weiss Stuart await him in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 20 at 5:00pm at the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Mandarin, 12236 Mandarin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. Memorial contributions may be made to either Church of Our Saviour or the Wounded Warrior Project.
