Charles Lee Opel, 81, of Salisbury, PA, died Monday, June 7, 2021, at In Touch Hospice House, Somerset, PA. Born October 5, 1939, in Elk Lick Twp., PA, he was the son of the late Lester and Lela B. (Durst) Opel. Mr. Opel was an agricultural mechanic for Springs Equipment Co. and then Lincoln Supply, Somerset, PA, retiring after 48 years of service. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was a past council member, Sunday school teacher and served in many other capacities. He enjoyed woodworking, having made wooden toys and birdhouses. He also enjoyed photography. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Marie (Deal) Opel; two sons, Ronald Scott Opel, Grantsville, MD; Keith Richard (Cheryl) Opel, Concord, NC; one sister, Carol Maust, Springs, PA; two grandchildren, Tyler Lee Opel and Audrey Rose Opel. A Memorial Service will be held in the St. John's Lutheran Church on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tyler Graham officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior.
