Mr. Charles G. Musgrave, age 88 of Hutsonville, IL passed away Wednesday October 13, 2021, at 8:10 PM at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation (Cotillion Ridge) Nursing Home in Robinson, IL following several months of failing health.
Charles was born in Kibbie, IL on July 2, 1933, to Glen and Katherine (Grant) Musgrave. After graduating from Hutsonville High School in 1950, he went on to serve his country in 1953 in the United States Army. Following his return home, Charles married the love of his life, Carol A. Lowther and she survives. It was then that he joined his father in working the family farm. In addition to farming, "Charles" known to many as Sonny, added trading farm equipment to his business. Many of his trips trading equipment included having "All His Girls" in the truck with him, along for the adventure. Charles and Carol also enjoyed traveling. They won numerous trips from Farm Seed Companies and traveled to various locations around the world. Charles also loved the vacations he and Carol took as a family. Seeing the USA was a summer tradition, between planting season and harvest season while the girls were growing up. These travels grew to include trips to see the grandchildren as their family expanded. Charles was a Deacon at the First Christian Church in Hutsonville, IL where he was a member for eighty-one years.
Survivors include two beloved daughters, Anna "Joey" and Gary Rogers, Titusville, FL, Cara J. Bennett, Robinson, IL; three grandchildren, Kristen Cannon, Jason and Sarah Cannon, Kaitlin and Jesse Stephens; four great-grandchildren, Corphin and Claire Cannon and Alexis and Alaura Stephens.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Glenellen Woodward as well as a brother-in-law, Gary Lowther.
A Graveside Service was held on Tuesday October 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL with Bro. Joe Griffith officiating.
