Charles Ray Linginfelter, age 81, of Friendsville passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at UT Medical Center. He was a longtime member of Friendsville First Baptist Church, retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 41 years of service. Charles Ray is a 1958 graduate of Friendsville High School, and a veteran of the US Army and Army National Guard as a Sergeant. He was a charter member and two term President of the Friendsville Optimist Club. Charles Ray served on the Friendsville City Commission for 15 years and served two terms as Mayor and Vice Mayor. He was a member and twice master of the Unitia Lodge #295 F&AM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a York Rite Mason, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was the Secretary and Treasurer of Zions Chapel Cemetery Association. He enjoyed going to the Noon Dinner Club at Louisville Community Center to help other senior citizens especially the handicapped. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Geraldine "Geri" Linginfelter; parents, Charles W. Linginfelter and Alice Ruth Simerly Linginfelter Daniels; brothers, Wayne Linginfelter and Gary Linginfelter. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay and Kenneth Reagan of Maryville; sons, Michael Ray Linginfelter of Maryville, and Roger Linginfelter of Friendsville; grandchildren, Ashton Reagan of Maryville, Angel Linginfelter of Maryville, Kylie and Lindsey Stiles of Maryville; special friend, Anne Robertson of Maryville; sister, Barbara Kay Arnold of North Carolina; and brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Patsy Linginfelter of Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Chapel Cemetery; in care of Renasant Bank or Meals on Wheels, 3509 Tuckaleechee Pike Maryville, TN 37803. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2022 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Pastor Scott Kidd and Pastor Bill Gowder officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Zion Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
