Charles A. Knight, Sr. went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 22, 2021, after suffering from complications of COVID-19, at the age of 87. He was the son of Maidie and Dewey Knight, Sr., of Kennesaw, Georgia. He was born in Kennesaw and lived most of his life there. He was a life-long member of Kennesaw First Baptist Church. Charles proudly served in the United States Army. He stood guard in Germany's Fulda Gap during the Cold War keeping the Soviets out of Western Europe. As a loving father, grandfather, and family member, he was always just a phone call away from being a help.
He is survived by a son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, brother, plus 3 sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. He has 1 surviving sibling, Hugh Lee Knight, out of 7 siblings.
Burial will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Kennesaw First Baptist Church's Children's ministry.
