Charles Scott Jackson, age 80, formerly of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 12:30 AM at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, Indiana.
Scott was born on April 9, 1944, in Paris Crossing, Indiana, to the late Willard E. and Eva Pauline (Eacret) Jackson.
Scott was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married the love of his life, Karen (Toppe) Jackson, on May 25, 1963, at the former Bethel Lutheran Church in Austin, Indiana. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
A graduate of Crothersville High School in 1962, Scott went on to have a long and dedicated career at Cummins Engine Company, where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 2005. Known for his strong work ethic, Scott was the kind of person who could fix anything and always had a joke or two to share with his coworkers. His independent spirit and zest for life were contagious, and he had a soft heart that endeared him to all who knew him.
Scott had many passions, from his love of NASCAR and cars, to his pride in his 1971 Oldsmobile 442 white convertible. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and his legacy of love and laughter will live on through them.
Scott was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Scott Jackson, who passed away on December 8, 2016, as well as his siblings and their spouses, Lois L. (James) Thompson, Janis (Ed) Hall, Robert E. (Phyllis) Jackson, and John Jackson.
He leaves behind his wife, Karen; daughters Kimberly K. (James) Haines of Tampico, IN, and Gina (Brian) Personett of Seymour, IN; four cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Teipen, Jordan (Althea) Teipen, Cameron "Mitchel" Personett, and Logan Personett; and three great-grandchildren, Jayce Nathaniel Teipen, Jaxxtyn Cole Teipen, and River Matthew Teipen. He is also survived by his sisters, Clara B. (Don) Ross of Commiskey, IN, Juanita M. (L.L.) Lowry of Scottsburg, IN, and Jane (Michael) Hien of Crothersville, IN.
Scott was a man who brought joy and laughter to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will continue to shine through the generations.
