Charles Harry Danner of Jackson Township passed away peacefully, February 25, 2023. He was 83.
He was born to the late Katharine (Brandt) and Harry Danner, joining sisters Anna Jane, Sara, brother James, and two years later, Jeannie.
Chuck graduated Jackson Memorial H.S. 1957. He served as class president 4 years, graduating Valedictorian.
He co-oped with The Timken Company and attended Georgia Tech. He graduated with highest honors 1963 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and continued working for The Timken Company 10 years. Chuck earned his Master Degree from the University of Akron while starting a family. He changed careers and began teaching at Kent State University becoming Assoc. Professor of Technology serving 24 years. He moved to Stark State College as a professor and later Dean of Engineering Technology and Industrial Training. After retiring from Stark State College, he began teaching again at Kent State University finally retiring in 2013.
He enjoyed his love of music and movies throughout his entire life, sharing it with others. Chuck was a diehard Jackson Polar Bear fan attending and videotaping for football and basketball programs.
Preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Harriet Mae, beloved brother Jim, brother-in-law Frank Broderick.
He is survived by loving daughter Lynn (Mike) Todich; grandchildren Michal and Emma Jean Todich; sisters Anna Jane Broderick, Sara (Jim) Urwin, Jeannie (Bill) Forsyth; nieces and nephews, Amy, Julie, Steve, Jeannie, Bethy, Kristine, Katharine, Laura Lynn and Danny; and twenty nine great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon. Memorial service will follow beginning at 2 P.M.
The Family would like to thank the Staff of The Inn at Whitewood Village, Harmony Hospice, and all of his wonderful friends and family that visited him and took him to sporting events and out to lunch and dinner.
