Charles D. Fox passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 11:05 pm, in Heritage Point, Mishawaka. Dad is now with Mom and Our Lord, in Paradise. Chuck was born on Christmas Day 1933 to Earl and Ethel (Potts) Fox. He graduated from Madison Twp High School in 1952 and married his high school sweetheart, Doris M. Winger. They were together for 62 years until Doris's passing in 2014. They loved their trips to Petoskey, MI every spring to hunt mushrooms. They built a home in Michigan which was his pride and joy. He always referred to it as "The Ponderosa". His hands were never idle. He started working at the age of 14 pumping gas at Frick's Shell Station in Wyatt, then at Royal Typewriter, finally retiring from Associates Investments. He then went to work for Forms Management part time and the rest of his time he spent cutting and splitting wood at "The Ponderosa", which he did well into his 80's. In his younger years, Chuck played basketball in high school and was a pitcher for several local fast pitch softball teams. He also was a league bowler for many years. Yes, he was a sports fanatic. He was a diehard Cubs fan, loved the Bears and Cowboys, and was a loyal IU and Purdue fan. He loved going to his great-grandsons' football and basketball games. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Doris; a son Scott Allen Fox; and a granddaughter Trisha Dawn LaVine. Chuck is survived by daughters, Pam (Marc) LaVine of Wyatt, Lori (Dan) Roberts of Osceola, and a son Tom (Dennie) Fox of Vandalia, MI; a brother, Robert Fox of Bremen; grandchildren, Traycee ( Brett Belardinella) Ferman, Tara (Joe) Beasley, Brandi (Michael III) Czajkowski, Justin (Heather Elliott) LaVine, Jeremy Fox, Evan Fox, Tosha (Kendrick) Cox, Samantha Roberts, Delaney Roberts, Sarah Fox, Mary (Harley) Zielinski, and Kevin Lukowski; and 14 great grandchildren. A private family service will be held. Rev. Raymond Salemink will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Woodland, P.O Box 35, Wyatt, IN 46595 or St. Paul's Lutheran School to fund the basketball program, 605 S. Center St., Bremen, IN 46506. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mishlerfuneralhomes.com
