Charles A. Bouteiller, 85, passed away on December 15, 2020 at home after a long illness. Born on June 29, 1935 in Great Barrington, MA he was the son of the late Armand and Isaline Faivre Bouteiller. Charles was raised in Great Barrington and graduated from the former Searles High School. Charles spent time in the U.S. Army, and was a self-employed contractor who built and renovated many beautiful homes in the Southern Berkshire area.
Charles was a proud member of the Berkshire County Antique Car Club and the Great Barrington Fish and Game Association. He was a communicant of the First Congregational Church in Great Barrington. In addition to his family and his garden, his greatest joy was collecting and refurbishing antique cars.
Charles was predeceased by his first wife, Carol Spadaccini Bouteiller, and his siblings, Fred and Jean Bouteiller.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Herbert Bouteiller, his sister, Claire Bouteiller Gillette and her husband, William, his son Charles Bouteiller and wife, Janet Wilkinson Bouteiller and his daughter, Susan Bouteiller Rubin and her husband, Bruce. Charles leaves his step-daughters, Deborah Herbert Rigdon and her husband, Brad, Donna Herbert Kelly and step-son, John W. Herbert and his wife, Dana Laytham-Herbert. Charles also leaves numerous grandchildren, including Charles Bouteiller, Jr. and his wife Kelly, Nicole Bouteiller, Lynn Ann Rubin, Bonnie Rubin and Andy Kelly as well as two great grandsons, Holden and Hollis Bouteiller.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be no services at this time. A celebration of Charlie's life will be announced at a later date.
