Charles 'Duke' Blackiston, Sr., 71 of Chestertown, MD passed away on April 14, 2021 at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD.
Duke was born on January 31, 1950, he was a lifetime resident of Chestertown where he attended Chestertown High School. In his younger years he worked as a farmer and waterman until he began his job in the maintenance department for Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital, he also worked for the Rock Hall Sanitation Department. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Duke enjoyed fishing, crabbing and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles 'Doc' Blackiston and his mother, Belle Middleton, his grandparents who raised him, Noble and Louise Middleton; his brother Skip Conley, daughter in law, Vanessa Blackiston and granddaughter, Ashley Blackiston.
Duke is survived by his children, Charles Walton Blackiston, Jr., Katie Lynn Blackiston and Charles Robert Blackiston; a sister Anna Conner and many special family and friends.
Per his wishes services will be held privately.
