Charles A. Bernheim passed peacefully away on July, 20, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Charlie was born in New York City on May 14th, 1935. He attended the Walt Whitman school, Allen-Stevenson, and graduated from Lawrenceville and Princeton University.
Charlie was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, where he was trained in intelligence service. After serving, he joined his late father Leonard H. Bernheim, Sr. and brother, Leonard, Jr. in the family brokerage business, Stern Lauer. He later moved to Bear Stearns, and finished out his career at JP Morgan Chase.
Charles is survived by his wife, Rachel Oestreicher Bernheim; his daughters, Ashley Haspel, and Samantha Haspel Ring, and his beloved grandson Leo Charles Myers.
He relished becoming a father to two teenage daughters, who loved him as their own.
Charlie was an avid golfer, a gourmet, a music and art lover, and a man of great generosity. He traveled the world and lived a great life. He was proud to call both Salisbury, North Carolina and New York home.
In his memory, charitable gifts may be made to the Doe Fund of New York or to Princeton University.
