Chip was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and grew up in Sarasota, Florida. In high school, he participated in football, swimming, the orchestra and circus. After graduating, he enlisted in the Marines serving his country proudly as a decorated Seargent for four years and in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to school, graduated from East Tennessee State University and began a career with TVA in Knoxville. He worked as a Manager in the areas of Engineering Design, Environmental Systems and Information Services until retiring in 1997.
Beyond his professional career, Chip had many passions. He was an amazing artist, sculptor and wood worker. He could fix anything and was called on to do so by family and friends alike. He designed his own home and acted as his own general contractor. He also enjoyed sailing, playing the guitar, traveling and trying new restaurants. His free spirit, gentle soul and tremendous heart will be missed by many. We will always treasure his inspiring resilience and "Chipper" sense of humor.
