Charles R. Ashcraft, 75, of Mannington, WV, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. With his long-time loving companion Donna was by his side when he went to go rest high on the mountain. He was born on September 7, 1946 at Sycamore Holler. He is the son of late Howard Rexal and Lillie Mae Ashcraft. Charlie graduated from Farmington High in 1964. Shortly, thereafter he joined the US Army and served most of his time in Germany working with missiles. He also worked in the coal mines, electrical, construction and carpentry fields. Charlie also worked for his son, Zachariah in Florida for a short time, learning the concrete business. He also worked in the fishing industry in the outer banks. With his companion Donna Jo Elliott-Tomana, Charles loved to travel all over the map and would always find his way back to the mountains of West Virginia. He had a passion for fishing, being in the open outdoors while listening to bluegrass music. Even loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Charles is also preceded in death by four brothers; Howard, Doug, Don, and Bob; one sister, Nancy and her husband Steve Matusky; one nephew; Michael (Ooper) Moorehead. Charles is survived by two sisters; Patricia and husband Ken Cole of Salisbury, NC, and Debbie and husband Mark Raschella of Farmington. Also survived by three children who he loved very deeply; Shawn Ashcraft and a granddaughter Page of TN, Charley (Aaron) Buck and their two children Riley and Ansley of Trenton, FL, Zachariah (Tanya) and their new baby Emerie Ashcraft of Trenton, FL. Charles is also survived by his blended family Aja (Angie) Tomana, Seth Tomana, Allyson Tomana and their children who loved him like an uncle. Several nieces and nephews and a special cousin Connie Ashley. Charles was noted among his friends and family for his iconic black boots and his long beard.
