Charles Alexander December 11, 1932 - January 4, 2024 Lakewood, Washington - Charles Alexander, beloved father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on December 11, 1932, in Muskogee, OK. In his professional life, Charles was a respected member of the community. His career in education and public service spanned over 31years. 11 of those were spent in Texas as an administrator and adjunct college instructor. Upon moving to Washington State, he began his storied 19-year career with the Clover Park School District. As a principal, then Personnel Director and ultimately School Superintendent. His remaining 11 years he was appointed by two governors to the Washington State Board of Personnel and Personnel Appeals. His many community service contributions include past President of United Way of Pierce County, President of Lakewood Kiwanis Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow member of the Lakewood Rotary Club. He served as a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Board, was a Sliver Beaver Award recipient with the Pacific Harbors Council Boy Scouts of America, and an Elder at Little Church on the Prairie. He spent his retirement as an avid golfer and bowler to be reckoned with. Charles will be deeply missed by his children, Gail Lynne and Charles, Jr., and his cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Isaac. He will also be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. He will forever be remembered as a man of strength, character and love, who touched the lives of all who knew him.
