Charlene Kay Freppel, 76, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on September 25, 2022. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 19, 1946 to William and Brenda (Parkinson) Ayers. Charlene married Fred Freppel on June 28, 1969 in Stow, Ohio.
Charlene was a teacher for 20 years in various school systems including; Sylvania, Florida, Ohio, Napoleon, Liberty Center, and Defiance. She was a member of the professional fraternity Delta Kappa Gamma. Charlene also worked closely with the Gleaners, the Henry County Historical Society, and the area Girls Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, crafts, and needlework. Charlene, along with her husband, enjoyed horse racing and were owners of several racehorses over the years.
Charlene is survived by her son, Jacob Freppel; brother, Bruce Ayers; and nephews, Reid (Lisa) Ayers, and Scott (Andie) Ayers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred.
Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Sunday October 2, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Girl Scouts or the Henry County Historical Society.
