Journey of Life
Charlene’s sunrise was January 18,1959. She was the only child of Wuanita and
Charles Jackson. Charlene was educated in the Shaker Heights school system. She
continued her education at Cuyahoga Community College and Virginia Marti
College of Art and Design- Fashion. She later became a Haute Couture designer and
seamstress. During this time, she also enjoyed doing modeling.
Charlene confessed Christ at a very early age and was baptized at East View
Congregational Church in Shaker Heights. She later moved her fellowship to
Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Abraham Campbell.
She worked as a Brokers Assistant at Merrill Lynch and also part-time at University
Hospitals of Cleveland as a Data Entry Operator. Most of her work years were with
the Internal Revenue Service in several capacities until she became a manager.
During this time, she received promotions and rewards. She later retired due to
health reasons. 4
Charlene was an avid football and basketball fan. She loved to dance and was the
only kindergartner who knew how to hand dance. Charlene enjoyed traveling and
going to concerts with her mother, her best friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving mother Wuanita Jackson, two aunts
Delores Rucker (Bill), Rose Mary Holmes and a host of cousins and
associates(friends).
