Cephus "Cliff" Clifton, Jr., 91, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on December 25, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 26, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas to the late Cephus and Ossie Whiten Clifton. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1947 and attended Samuel Huston College in Austin. He was a veteran of the Koren War. Cephus was employed by Janitorial Services, Inc. for over 30 years. He also owned and operated several businesses in the Victoria area. He was a member of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
He is survived by his children-daughter Gwen Williams of Dallas, Deborah Clifton of Atlanta,GA; son James Clifton of Atlanta, GA; sister Verma Ellison of Dallas; one grandchild Andrew Williams and one great-grand child.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Willis C. Mays and Bessie Lee Ellis, sisters Dorothy Caldwell, Johnnie McHamlett, and Evelyn Williams.
His family is grateful to Southern Grace Hospice for their comforting actions.
Visitation will be held on December 31,2020 ; 9:00 am - 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, Victoria- 407 N. Bridge Street.
Funeral service 10:00 am. at First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Powell officiating.
Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of Victoria Veterans Council, VFW, CWV, DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion, Marine Corps League, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Crossroads Expows and the Military Order of the World Wars.
