Cecilia Capozzi, 94, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021.
Cecilia was born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Antonio and Marguerite (Azzizzi) DiGiulio and lived in the Akron area all of her life. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony Church, where she was a member of the St. Monica's Society. She was also a member of the Cassanese Women's Auxiliary Club, and the Patterson Park Senior's Club. She was retired from Akron Public Schools as a food services worker. She loved telling old stories, watching old western movies, tending to her many house plants, completing word searches, was an avid bingo player, and thoroughly enjoyed getting her hands on a good piece of bubble wrap. Above all, she loved her family more than anything, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
In addition to her parents, Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Capozzi, Sr., sons, Thomas A. Capozzi, Sr., and Anthony J. Capozzi, Jr., grandsons, Baby Boy Capozzi, and Thomas A. Capozzi, Jr., and brother, Dominic DiGiulio. She is survived by daughters, Celeste Capozzi, and Paula Capozzi; grandchildren, Andy (Leeann), Matt (Melissa), Martin Kubilus, Christiana, Ryan Kubilus, Joseph Mong and Ashley (Steve) Ebie; great-grandchildren, Austin Brown, Mikayla, Anthony, Tonya, Haley, Emma, Matthew Jr., Jacob, Kevin, Kayla, Kaden, Ethan, Avery, and Addison; sisters, Frances Massa, and Nardina Conti; sister in law Madeleine (Tom) Lee; cousin, Dolly Denning; adopted daughter, Dorothy (David) Collins; and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021, 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44303. Visitation will be Monday, November 29, 2021, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home (corner of N. Main St. and Mildred Ave.). Cecilia's final resting place will be Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Parish, 83 Mosser Place, Akron, Ohio 44310.
