CECIL FRANKLIN BAKER, age 88 of Athens Tenn. passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, former resident of Danville, Ky. a son of the late Arlie Arch and FairyDelll Boyd Baker and preceded in death by three brothers: Edsel Baker, James Arlin Baker, Clay Baker, Three Sisters: Judith Baker, Uldine Baker, and Charlotte Earline Baker. He was always involved in furniture manfacturiing . including , Carver Furniture, Athens Furniture,
Charisma Furniture, Jackson in Danville, Ky., and retired from Jackson Furniture of Danville, Ky. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Tabernacle of Sweetwater, Tenn. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force where he was a mail clerk.
Survivors: Wife of 33 years: Juliane Czakai Baker of Athens, Tenn., Two Daughters and sons-n-law: Lisa Caroline and Michael Turbyfill of Lenoir Ciity, Tenn., Elizabeth (Polly) and Jody Knight of Bartlett, Tenn., Two Step Daughters and Husbands:: Sheila (Randy) Gilbert of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Lisa (Ed) Allen of Lenoir City, Tenn. Two Brothers and Sister-in-law: Danny Baker and Jackie and Brenda Baker of Athens, Tenn., Sister and Brother-in-law: Dawn and Jim Litz of Dalton, Ga., Four Grandchildren, Taylor Turbyfill, Brian (Makayla) Turbyfill, Logan Knight, Lucas Knight One Step Grandchild Jake Stanton One Great Grandson: Elliott Clayton Turbyfill
Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, March 26, 2023 in McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Pete Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
