Catherine Elkin Rosen
Catherine Elkin Rosen, 93, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at her Signal Mountain, TN home in the presence of family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Francis (Bill) and Catherine Elkin; her husband, Sidney Rosen and her siblings William, James, and Elizabeth.
Dr. Rosen is survived by one daughter, Amy Rosen, of Watkinsville, GA; and three sons, Mark (Janis) Rosen, of Arlington, VA, Daniel (Lisa Szczukowski) Rosen, of Signal Mountain, TN and Steven (Lisa) Rosen of Atlanta, GA. She has six grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Catherine earned her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1971. She was a prolific author and specialist in the areas of community mental health and privacy rights, having testified as an expert before the U.S Senate and Georgia State legislature. In retirement, she was an intrepid traveler, voracious reader and a very successful student of the investment world.
Given the exigencies of the times, there will be no funeral or memorial service. It was her wish that there be no flowers, but rather that you donate instead to your local Public radio or television station.
