Catherine Ann Martin

Catherine Martin, age 91, of Billings, passed away December 29. 2023. She was born December 12, 1932, in San Diego, California to Terry and Catherine (Little) Simons.

Her father was transferred to Sacramento, California when she was age seven and her growing-up years were spent there. On July 4, 1954, she married the love of her life, Herb Martin. Together, they raised four children.

Beginning in 1950, she was employed by the State of California for eight years, then leaving to be a stay-at-home mom. In 1974, she began employment with the Yellowstone County Office of Human Services, serving for 21 years, retiring in 1995.

Her strong faith and family were her life. She truly cared about other people and always tried to be a kind, caring, helpful, and trustworthy friend.

She is survived by her children, daughters Susanne Collum, Sandra (David) Kreiter, and Theresa Martin; son, Herb Martin, Jr.; grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew Kreiter; and great grandchildren, Shawn Sonsteng, Jaxon, Xandria, Owen, and Clara Kreiter.

A Vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral, with a luncheon to follow.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Co-Cathedral or a charity of one's choice.
