Catherine Ball Dyott, 94, of St. Michaels, Maryland, passed peacefully on February 10, 2021 surrounded by loved ones and listening to gospel music.
Born in Neavitt, she was the last remaining child of Bessie and John Ball's nine children. After graduating in 1943 from St. Michaels High School, she married waterman Ernest Dyott and raised two daughters: Diana and the late Mary Jo. Catherine and Ernie walked arm-in-arm daily to the St. Michaels Post Office. They also enjoyed dancing on the weekends at the now defunct Easton Moose Lodge and road trips with their many friends. After Ernie's death, John Meredith, who also proceeded her, became her companion. A member of the Royal Oak United Methodist Church and its choir, the dedicated Baltimore Orioles fan enjoyed her stories, shopping, and word finder puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter Diana and son-in-law Dickie Jones with whom she lived for more than 30 years; her grandchildren Ricky (Kathy) Jones; and Helen Jones-Toms (Howard Agriesti); her three great-grandchildren Connie Cooper, Michael Toms, and Shannon Voshell; three great-great-grandchildren Jacob Cooper, Lindsay Voshell and Christy Voshell; and countless others who lovingly called her "Mom-mom."
There will be a walk-through viewing for the public from 1 to 2 pm at the Framptom Funeral Home- Ostrowski Chapel, 312 S. Talbot Street, St. Michaels; on Tuesday, February 16, followed by a private service for family.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial gifts to the St. Michaels Volunteer Fire Department, 1001 S. Talbot Street, St. Michaels, Maryland 21663.
