Catherine (Cay) Pangburn of Dallas passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Cay was born in NY but her roots were from Minnesota where she was raised in Chaska and continued to live around the Minneapolis St Paul area. She attended the University of Minnesota, where she met our Father, Dan E. Pangburn. Eventually, Dan's work took them to Dallas where they raised four children and a countless number of animals. Our Mom was a beautiful, kind, generous and loving person and touched everyone's hearts. Cay was passionate about animals and together, our parents were known to rescue and adopt animals. Their pets would always live extremely very long and happy lives. Mom was a very social and sweet person, had many friends and was loved by everyone she met. She was an antique dealer at one time and educated herself on antiques. Mom was particularly passionate about her Indian jewelry, was an avid collector and knew of the artists and would recognize all of their pieces. She would travel to Santa Fe almost yearly usually accompanied by a daughter or two. She was an avid reader, well read and always had a book in her hand, most likely mysteries. Mom was so full of life and not ready to leave us. We already miss her more than words can say. Catherine is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dan Earl Pangburn, Daughter Jennifer Anne Pangburn Culbertson and husband David and Jennifer's children Alex and Laura, Daughter Therese Catherine Pangburn Armstrong and husband Mike and their children Ashley, Andrew and Blake, son Daniel David Pangburn and wife Julie Alley, daughter Julie Anne Pangburn Larson and husband Sidney and their children, Aaron and Austin. Mom was a great grandmother to James, Ben, Luke and Arya. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the SPCA. Her celebration of life will be held at St. Rita Catholic church in Dallas on August 18th at 11:00 AM.
