Age 62 of West Allis, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Oak Creek, WI. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 27, 1959, to Dr. John and Camille Ginski. Spending most of her youth in Memphis, TN, she attended St. Paul Catholic Grade School, and graduated from Memphis Preparatory School in 1977. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Magdalen College, New Hampshire, in 1981. She was married for 32 years to Michael Becker in 1987 at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Cathy had a talent for teaching. She taught elementary school children at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School and Alverno Elementary School, Milwaukee. Generous with her time and talent in the Greater Milwaukee Homeschool community, she offered a Youth Leadership Program (YLP) in her home to many children for many years, she hosted together with her husband a Sports Night at a local gym for the children, and she began the Festival of Arts, an annual talent show for homeschoolers. She and her husband Mike also enjoyed many years with the Toastmasters of District 35, in which she and Mike held various leadership offices. Cathy was very artistic in so many areas, creating beautiful oil paintings of still-life and landscapes, delicate etched-glass drawings and detailed pyro-graphic art. She loved being out in nature, and biking and camping with her family were sources of great joy. Opening her home to family and friends, hospitality was her gift. Most importantly, living her Catholic Faith was what directed her vocation as a loving wife to Mike, and a mother to her beloved Michael Gabriel, her two "M & M's".
"O Jesus, I Trust in Thee". This became the prayer of her life. Enduring the hardships of Type 1 Diabetes in her childhood, suffering many miscarriages including 3 precious still-born children, battling breast cancer like a champ, learning to thrive in spite of her growing blindness over the years, lately losing her son, and then her husband, she surrendered to the crucible of suffering, as she continually faced each new challenge. Truly inspiring to her friends and family, she was able to laugh through the tears. The 3-o'clock Hour of Mercy was very important to her, and these last several years, she would receive a phone call from her mother, Camille, and they would pray the Divine Mercy prayer together.
Both her husband, son, and her father, John Ginski have preceded her in death.
Cathy is survived by her mother, Camille Ginski; two brothers, Tom and Steve (Amy) Ginski; sisters-in-law Cynthia (Keith) Kirsch, Darlene Becker, and Wendy Becker; 11 nieces and nephews and 33 grand-nieces and nephews.
