Casey Nell Cooper-Hill, 49, of Stamford, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022. A visitation will be held at Kinney-Underwood Funeral, 210 S. Ferguson St., Stamford, on May 12, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 13, 2002, at the First Baptist Church, 214 N. Swenson in Stamford with Riley Carver officiating.
Casey Cooper was born January 4, 1973, to Dickie and Jeryl Anne Terrell Cooper. She attended the First Baptist Church in Stamford and Bethel Assembly in Anson. She was selected in 1989 to be the Texas Cowboy Reunion Barrel Sponsor. She was a member of the Stamford Junior Sheriff's Posse traveling many miles to ride in parades and compete at playdays and rodeos. She attended Stamford ISD until her freshman year. She graduated from Lueders Avoca High School in 1991. After High School she attended Western Texas College and Cisco Jr. College where she was a member of the Rodeo Teams. While raising her children she traveled to all of their sporting events and stock shows. After her children graduated her love of barrel racing prevailed, and she continued to ride competitively again. Casey won countless buckles at various rodeos, jackpots, and other barrel racing events. She was a five-time qualifier to the BBR (Better Barrel Racers) World Finals. She won the 40's at the Senior Pro Rodeo and was a two-time qualifier to the ALL IN World Finals in Las Vegas. Casey was the Texas Cowboy Reunion BBQ Cook-Off Chairman for the last 13 years. She served as the District President of the NBHA (National Barrel Association). She married the love of her life, Pat Hill, on February 14, 2022. Casey loved her family, more especially her children and grandson. Aside from all of her accomplishments Casey is best known for her positive attitude and infectious smile.
Casey was preceded in death by her hero, her daddy, Dickie Cooper; cousin, Harvey Terrell, and family friend, Eddie McIlwain.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Hill of Sagerton; mother, Jeryl Anne Cooper of Stamford; son, Cassidine Walters and Dominique Bond of Abilene; daughter, Carcin Walters and Jake Thornton of Greeley, CO; daughter, Kinsley of the home; grandson, Cooper Walters of Abilene; 3 brothers, Chawn Cooper and wife Karen of Greenville, TX; Cody Cooper of Stamford; Timothy Delce of Compton, CA; grandparents, Jerry and Barbara Terrell of Stamford; numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
