AURORA - On Thursday, May 26, 2022, Caryl J. Riley, a loving wife, and mother, passed away at the age of 62. Caryl was a beloved wife to her husband, Kevin; and mother to two children, Connor, and Carter. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda, David (Cindy), Charlie (Shannon) and Joan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Caryl grew up in Chicago and Des Plaines, IL. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Lake Forest College and an MBA at Wake Forest University. Caryl spent most of her working career as a marketing and sales director for building industry magazines. Following her desire for civic duty, Caryl worked for the US Census during the 2020 census. She also worked for the American Red Cross and as an Election Judge. Caryl gave her time and effort to many organizations such as the Marmion Academy Mother's Club, Sports Boosters and Abbey Farm. Caryl was a member of the City of Aurora Mayors Sustainable Advisory Board. She volunteered with the Kane County Forest Preserve. In 2019, Caryl ran for the City of Aurora, 1st Ward alderman opening. She is preceded in death by her parents, George, and Patricia Weisbecker. In lieu of flowers, a gift donation may be made to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL, to support Caryl's love of nature. A church service and Celebration of Life event will be scheduled for later in the summer of 2022.
