Carolyn J. Slagle, 74, of Defiance, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 29, 1947 to Glen and Lois (Sworden) Walker of Napoleon. Carolyn was an 1965 graduate of Florida High School. She was confirmed at Florida United Methodist Church where she also married the love of her life, Jay Slagle, on April 27, 1968, whom survives.
Carolyn worked as a computer programmer at S&W Whole Sale Meats of Louisiana, USA Auto Stores of Louisiana, Johns Manville of Defiance and Dinner Bell of Defiance. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty-three years, Jay Slagle; daughter, Tammy (Robert) Boettner; grandchildren, Kevalyn and Devin Boettner and brother, Norm (Susan) Walker. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Brubaker, half-brother, Donnie (Peggy) Conners and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Brenda Walker and half-siblings, Richard Heckler and Judy Brubaker.
Memorials in Carolyn's memory may be considered to the American Cancer Society, ASPCA or Heartland Hospice. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the American Legion Annex Building (500 Glenwood Ave.) of Napoleon from 2pm to 7pm.
