Carolyn Hawley Myers passed away peacefully at home in Lawrenceville, GA, after declining health. Carolyn and sister Dotty grew up in Columbus, GA, where her father was a dentist and her mother was a teacher. A graduate of Columbus HS, she attended Mary Washington College and graduated from Temple University as a dental hygienist. After her husband Hal Gray's death in Vietnam, she later married Marvin Myers and they raised their combined family of four in Columbus and Seale, AL. Carolyn's strong Christian faith and passion for books help them found the Mustard Seed Christian Bookstore and after moving near Atlanta Carolyn worked and retired from the Family Christian Bookstore. She loved gardening, long talks with friends and opening her home to Bible studies. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. J.M. and Dorothy Hawley, husbands Harold Gray and Marvin Myers, grandson Benjamin Myers, brother-in-law Colon Folk, and son-in-law Trip Coombs. She is dearly missed by her sister Dotty Folk, children Scott Myers, Tracy Coombs, Becky (Frank) Kremer and Marshall (Melanie) Myers, granddaughters Shelby Myers and Anna Kremer and grandsons Jeremy, Andrew, Zachary, Stephen and Matthew Myers along with her extended family and beloved friends. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Parkhill in Columbus. Flowers joyfully received or support your favorite local foodbank.
