Carolyn Guree Johnson, age 79, passed away on October 22, 2021. She was born on August 26, 1942 near Bristow, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Russell Fenton and Naomi Stafford Fenton.
Carolyn was a very loving woman and this was evident in all aspects of her life. She received a Master's Degree in Anthropology and a Master's Degree in Archeology from Wichita State University. She was in archeologist for over thirty years before retiring. Carolyn enjoyed her job and worked on many different projects that helped many different people. In her retirement years, she enjoyed creating her own line of custom Guree jewelry but above all, she loved the time she spent making memories with her family. Carolyn was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, James Johnson, Her fur kids Molly and Bunny; son, Craig (Jackie) Ray; daughter, Toni (David) Strawn; brother, Dan (Beverly) Fenton; grandchildren, Allison (Joshua) Cauthen, Garrett (Carrie) Strawn, Dillon (Kelsey White) Strawn, and Stephanie (Taylor) Fehl; and great grandchildren, Hank Cauthen, Jace Cauthen and Emelia Strawn.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday, November 12, 2021 at two o'clock in the afternoon, at the First Presbyterian Church (803 Central Ave), Dodge City with Rev. Ryan Ausmus officiating.
