Carolyn M. Caprioglio, 78, passed away on July 6th with her children by her side at her home in Rocky Hill, CT. Carolyn was born to the late Fred and Eunice (Welles) Hyslop in St Louis, MO on September 5th, 1943.
Carolyn attended Greeley High School and then graduated from Colorado State College.
Carolyn met and fell in love with her husband of almost 55 years, Peter Caprioglio, while training to be a Volunteer In Service To America (VISTA). They were married in FL on April 30th, 1966 and raised their two children in Cromwell CT. Carolyn also donated her time at "Literacy Volunteer" and was a longtime volunteer at the Anne Marie House in Hudson, NH.
Carolyn was a reporter and editor at the Middletown Press for 23 years and also wrote for the Cromwell Chronicle. Along with Peter, they established an editing business during their retirement years. She and Peter retired in Amherst, NH in 1999. They enjoyed church related activities, traveling, their cats and watching their family grow.
Carolyn is pre-deceased by her husband Peter and her sister Barbara (Hyslop) Heidger. She is survived by her daughter Melinda (Caprioglio) Nenninger and her husband Gary Nenninger and his son Cory, her son Michael and his wife Tracy (Quinn) Caprioglio, their daughter Emily and son Owen, her brother Alan Hyslop and his wife Carol, her brother-in-law Paul Heidger and his wife Margaret, brother David Hyslop and his wife Mary Sue, her sister Genevieve (Hyslop) Williams and her husband David, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carolyn's altruism, smile and faith will be missed by all.
Family and friends may pay their respects at D'Angelo Funeral Home at 22 South Main Street, Middletown, CT, on Monday, July 11th, from 5pm-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Wednesday, July 13th, at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street, Nashua, NH.
