Longtime West Springfield resident, Carolyn (Fogg) Calabrese, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield to the late Walter and Barbara (Chapin) Fogg, she was a graduate of Agawam High School, Class of 1955 Valedictorian. Carolyn’s greatest joy was her family. She loved being at home baking pies for her boys when she was a young homemaker and curling up with a good book in the screenhouse. She loved flowers, sewing, crochet, needlepoint, could cook the most amazing turkey dinner and made Christmas Eve magical. Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Lisa Calabrese and her loving husband Louis J. Calabrese, Sr. She will be sadly missed by her devoted children; Joseph Calabrese and his wife Ann, Louis Calabrese, Jr. and his wife Sandy, all of West Springfield and daughter Amy Mendrala and her husband Michael of Feeding Hills, brothers; Walter Fogg and his wife Beverly and James Fogg and his wife Jerry, sister in law Judy Calabrese, five loving grandchildren; Kristen Buoniconti (Bill), Dr. Bethany Calabrese (Joseph Judge), Chelsea Pighetti (Dave) and Hayden and Harrison Mendrala and 4 cherished great grandchildren; Enzo and Marco Buoniconti and Vincent and Gio Pighetti. In recent years, Carolyn had been missing her sweetheart of 65 years, Lou. We are grateful that she is at peace and would like to thank Hospice of Western MA for their compassionate care, especially her “team” Amber and Kate, and the entire staff at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow for their help. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Carolyn’s Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday, June 8th at 11:00 AM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home followed by burial in Springfield Street Cemetery, Agawam.
