Carolyn A. Brock, 81, of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, Indiana.
Born on August 22, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. Shandrowski and Hilda R. (Whitmore) Shandrowski.
She worked faithfully in the Housekeeping Department at the former Jackson County Hospital, beginning her service in 1979 and dedicating over 32 years until her retirement. She attended Crothersville Nazarene Church where she still holds her membership.
Carolyn will be remembered as a precious, sweet, and funny woman who loved everyone and lived a selfless life. She was an avid reader, a devoted cat lover who rescued many over the years, and she found joy in tending both flower and vegetable gardens. She loved reading her Bible and treasured time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Survivors include her two daughters, Peggy Lynn (Kenneth) Brock-Brown of Warsaw, Indiana, and Pamela Sue (Marshall Miller) Cox of Crothersville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Taylor (Stetson) Jo Shuler of Seymour, Indiana, Brian Matthew Cox of Crothersville, Indiana, Tony Edward (Steva Plantz) Combs of Crothersville, Indiana, and William (Macy) Amick of Scottsburg, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee Cox, Bryson Brock, River Combs, Ryker Shuler, and Lainey Shuler; her sister, Peggy Wilson of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; and her special friend and the father of her children, Golden Paul Brock of Crothersville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Paul Edward Brock (1986) and Patrick Dean Brock (2020); and siblings, William Peter Shandrowski, Paula Clatterbuck, and Hilda Sajor.
Funeral services will be conducted by Kim I. Suits on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville, Indiana, with burial to follow at Uniontown Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crothersville Nazarene Church.
