Carole Cox Sennett, age 87, passed away at her home after a short illness on April 19, 2022. Born in Lenoir City and raised in Alcoa, Tennessee she went on to marry her husband of 66 years, Bill. As a military wife, she was made of resilience, strength, and courage. She made a life of relocating seamless for her family, making every move a new adventure. With assignments from Washington, DC to Texas (twice), Ohio, Arizona, Germany, and France, she made lasting friendships. After their military retirement, they embarked on a second career residing in Montreal and Toronto before finally retiring to their East Tennessee hometown. She loved to travel, meeting and making new friends and had a great capacity to roll with change, accepting whatever difficulties life threw at her with humor, grace, and style. She was passionate about her gardens, was a gifted seamstress and knitter, and a voracious reader. Above all else, she was grounded by her family. She was and will forever be loved for her integrity, kindness, love of laughter, and independent spirit. Carole is survived by her husband, Bill; her three children, daughter, Julie Rodgers (Roddy), son, Hank Sennett (Sarah) and son, Steve Sennett (Karen); 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, JoAnne Utley of Little Rock, Arkansas, and sister-in-law Wanda Cox of Knoxville, Tennessee; along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her and will miss her terribly. She is preceded in death by her brother, Russ Cox; brother-in-law, Roger Utley; and parents, Frederick Joseph Cox and Evelyn J. Cox. On Carole's behalf, her family extends a special thanks to UT Hospice- particularly her nurses Patrick and Stephanie. In addition, many thanks to her caretakers Brent and Cynthia for their unending kindness.
As we celebrate Carole's life, we invite those who were touched by her kindness to direct donations to the Alcoa First United Methodist Church in her memory. A Celebration of her Life will be planned at a later date. Be the things you loved most about the people who are gone. Online condolences may be made at rosefuneraltn.com.
