Carol Diane Smith was born on July 3, 1953 in Muscatine, IA to Arnold & Allene (Miller) Smith. She graduated from L & M High School in 1971. She later married Alan Buck in 1974, to which her two children were born. Carol was known for her love of plants and animals, always having a yard full of flowers and a big garden. She loved having her hummingbird feeders and birdhouses to watch and enjoy. She was always known for her sewing, embroidery, and crochet with many beautiful projects over the years. Carol worked as a customer service representative for APAC in Ottumwa for years, where she formed lifelong friendships with many people. Her APAC friends were quite familiar with her skillful cooking for their potlucks. When her children were young, her kitchen was always full of delicious smells and you could always find a good meal at her table where everyone was welcome. In her later years, she loved her Hallmark movies and coloring beautiful pictures. Carol loved her grandchildren and loved seeing them blossom, being known as Nana or GuhGuh to the family. Her loving, caring, and generous hugs and kisses will be greatly missed by all.
