Carol Koch, age 74, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021, in Watertown. She was the widow of Dennis Koch. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021, at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Janke will officiate. Music will be provided by Carol Janke as organist with congregational singing. The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:00 a.m. for a family prayer service. The service will be Live-streamed on the church's website and the Crawford-Osthus website.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mary Decker and Dick Fedt, Gene and Bonnie Voelsch, Deb, Lisa and Turk Amy, Bob and Jeannette Mack, Dr. Kim Wilde, Rick and Deb Horton, Mark and Laura Bayles, Chuck and Shell Kurkosky, and friends at Minnesota Rubber. Active pallbearers are: Darrick Koch, Rod Koch, Mike Starr, Bob Starr, Dustin Koch, Pete Brugman, Chandra Walsh and Deb Amy.
Carol was born on April 9, 1947, to Arthur and Iola (Brugman) Wehrkamp, in Watertown, SD. She was a 1966 graduate of Watertown High School. She worked at Cottage Liquors. On January 2, 1967, she was united in marriage to Dennis Koch in Watertown. While raising their daughter, Carol started working at Minnesota Rubber in 1972, where she retired in May of 2011. They continued living in Watertown.
She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. Carol enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing and hunting with family. She liked playing Bingo, traveling and going for rides with Dennis. Her special times were spent with family. Carol loved Arrow Athletics, especially fastpitch, the SDSU Jackrabbits and Minnesota Twins, and she still enjoyed the Green Bay Packers.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Jody (Dean) Walsh of Watertown, SD; one granddaughter, Chandra; one brother, Gary (Candy) Wehrkamp of Las Vegas, NV; one brother-in-law, Darrel Koch of Watertown, SD; one sister-in-law, Denise Sotka of Watertown, SD, and one grandpuppy, Jase.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her parents; and her niece, Leah Wehrkamp.
