ROBERT H. HALVERSON FUNERAL HOME
On September 28, the Lord carried our precious wife, mom and grandma from her little home of the Ridge to His heavenly home above. Carol Anne Fitzgerald was born in Cambridge, OH in 1947 to the late Henry and Emily Rattler and only minutes before her twin brother, the late Carl "Bud" Calvert (Cincinnati, OH). She is preceded in death by her adoptive parents William and Jane Calvert (Cambridge, OH), siblings James Caygill (Loudon, TN) and Marylou Burt (Columbus, OH),and survived by brother David Britton (Loveland, OH) and sister Lucinda "Cindy" Bell (Atlanta, GA). Carol was known affectionately as Sissy to her Cambridge, OH family, especially her dear aunts Ruth and Mary "Babe" Calvert and her cousins Corrine Calvert and Tim Calvert. Carol shared her heart and talents with many friends, including those from the Listie Grace Brethren Church and especially her "little friend down the road," Brenda Mumaw (West Jefferson, OH). Carol devoted her love and life to her husband and "gift from God" Thomas to whom she was married 23 years, as well as to her children Thomas and Tonya Shepherd (Somerset) and Joseph and Maria Shepherd (West Jefferson, OH). With delicate hands and a hearty laugh, Carol also dedicated her days to her grandchildren; Emily and Dillon Speelman and Abby Shepherd (Somerset); Haley, Lindsay, and Daisy Green (West Jefferson, OH);and her "little Dumplin" Paige Hartman (Somerset). Forever missed and deeply treasured, our wife, mom and our mamaw shines as the virtuous woman whose price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10). We love you Mom! Family and friends will be received at the Listie Grace Brethren Church on Thursday, October 1 from 12 noon - 2 and 3 - 5 where a service will immediately follow.
