Carol Ann Bennetts Feb. 10, 1945 June 25, 2022 A longtime resident of San Anselmo and devoted parishioner of St. Rita's parish, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Long Beach, CA to Carl and Marie Petersdorf (deceased). Her father had a Naval career so the family relocated many times between San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA and then to Pueblo, CO where she graduated from South High School. After finally returning to the S.F. Bay Area, the family settled in El Sobrante, CA where she attended and graduated from Contra Costa College. She had a passion for children and teaching, working first as a volunteer then as an aid and substitute teacher at St. Rita's Catholic School for many years. She was also a popular tutor who helped many students with their studies. In addition, Carol was the Director of Religious Education at St. Rita's Church. Carol was a lifelong learner, and attended many classes in literature and the humanities at the College of Marin. She loved traveling, gardening and classic film. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a very kind and loving heart, and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. The family would like to thank the staff at Marin Cancer Center for their excellent care and compassionate staff. Carol is survived by her husband Roger; sons Geoffery Bennetts (Christina) and Ryan Bennetts; grandchildren, Paula Flores, Melody Flores, and William Bennetts. She is also survived by her sister Charlene Arrington; niece Jennifer Arrington; nephew Christopher Arrington; three great-nephews and nieces; and two great-great-nieces. A viewing and visitation will be held on July 7, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Rita's Church, 100 Marinda Dr. in Fairfax, CA. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on July 8, 2022 at St. Rita's Church; after which a graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 2540 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA.
