88, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2021 holding her husband Joe's hand and surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Americo and Mary Spoto, her oldest son Joseph Midulla Jr, her grandson Anthony Joseph Midulla, and her sister Josephine Mortellaro. She was born and raised in Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1950. She later married the love of her life, Joe, who who had enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War (service 4 years), so Carmen travelled with him until he was stationed in Japan for a year and a half. At that time, she and her son Joe Jr went with her parents who helped her take care of their son, Joe Jr. while she worked at the Exchange National Bank. She never failed to write to her husband three times a day. Carmen was the sweetest most loving person you would love to meet and be with...always smiling and never speaking badly about anything. She was content with what she had...material things meant nothing to her. She was happy with her husband and with her family. Carmen loved baseball always watching the Rays regardless of what time they played. Her favorite food was pasta...any kind of pasta with lots of cheese. Carmen could eat it every day... she was a true Italian American. She was truly blessed as she never dieted but yet kept her figure until the day she passed away. Carmen's greatest joy was the love of her family. She always looked forward to family gatherings at her home for holidays, birthdays, and family dinners. Having everyone together made her face light up with joy and if she had any pain, it would go away. That is what love can do. Carmen's biggest fear was that she would get a point where she would not be able to recognize her husband and family. Each night she prayed that this would not happen. She also prayed for her husband and family to be happy and healthy. Her nightly ritual was to call her kids and make sure they were all fine. No one in the world is perfect but Carmen came pretty close. She was a happy, sweet, beautiful person and the love of Joe's life. She will be terribly missed and never forgotten. The family could never have done it without her. She taught them the true meaning of love and they were blessed to have had her in their life. Carmen leaves behind her beloved husband of 69 years Joe, sons Chris Midulla, Tim Midulla (Roxanne), Jim Midulla (Marta); seven grandchildren Michael Midulla (Veronica), Shayna Midulla (Josh), Tiffany, James, Amber, Christopher, Ciara; and one great-grandchild, Joseph. Carmen now lives in heaven with the angels and someday we will be together again. The family would like to thank Zenaida Ramirez for the wonderful care she gave Carmen, treating her as one of her own.
