Carl V. Ward, 89, of Stilesville, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at Avon Health and Rehab Center.
He was born Tuesday, March 29, 1932 to the late William Alfred Ward, Sr. and Stella Francis (Fryman) Ward in Indianapolis. On April 30, 1955 he married his wife, A. Jane (Hawley) Ward who passed away February 14, 2002.
Carl was a 1952 graduate of Eminence High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Gasburg Baptist Church and worked as a machine operator for Link Belt (now Rexnord) for over 35 years until his retirement in 1997.
He is survived by his children, Carla Jane Fisher, Melissa A. Gonzalez and husband Pablo, Scott Ward and wife Lisa, Tina M. Mundy and husband Michael; brother, Raymond Ward; sisters, Marian Baldwin, Kay Seipp, Carolyn Broadstreet, Opal Chambers; companion, Avis Shipman; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Trudy J. Ward; brothers, Ralph Paul "Bus" Ward, Edgar Ward, Bill Ward, John Ward, Gearld Ward, Dearld Ward, Jearld "Oscar" Ward, Jim Ward; sisters, Helen Ward, Louise Parks, Marie Ward, Barbara Wiltermood; son-in-law, Ricky Fisher.
Visitation is 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Costin Funeral Chapel. Services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 with Deacon Scott Sears officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall.
